Library

The library of the East Asian Studies Department is home to book collections not only dealing with modern China, but with eras well before our own as well.
The East Asian Studies Department has a long history and was primarily oriented towards pre-modern Chinese until the beginning of this century. The departmental library is thus privy to an excellent collection on pre-modern China.

Since 2008, however, the focus of study and research at the department has been on modern China. Accordingly, the library is now equipped with an abundance of literature on the subject, with particular emphases on history, philosophy, religion, politics, law, society and the economy of modern China.

In addition to specialist literature in Chinese and Western languages, the East Asian Seminar provides registered students with unlimited access to a variety of online databases and e-journals related to China and Chinese Studies.
