Lecture: 龍居佛地:一位百歲僧人的宗教歷程/ Dragon Dwelling in a Buddhist Land: The Religious Journey of a Centenarian Monk

    Online

Titel: 龍居佛地:一位百歲僧人的宗教歷程/ Dragon Dwelling in a Buddhist Land: The Religious Journey of a Centenarian Monk Time:18. December 2025 CET 10:00–12:00 Online Speech via ZooM Register in advance for this meeting: https://uni-goettingen.zoom-x.de/meeting/register/DUk42lG4QpalgCW06b2M9A Abstract:(Chinese Version) Abstract: (English Version) Based on textual sources and interviews, this study recounts the religious experiences of Master Jinghai (1919–2019) of […]

The lecture will be held in Chinese. This lecture is part of the lecture series New Perspectives on Modernity in China. The lecture will be held in Chinese. This lecture is part of the lecture series New Perspectives on Modernity in China. . Online (Zoom)

Key points of the lecture The Chinese character 笔 bǐ means „there are hairs under the bamboo tube”, whilst the English word “pen“ derives from the Latin word for “feather“; the character “著“ zhù suggests that the Chinese used to write down characters on “grass“, whilst the English word “paper“ derives directly […]
