What is the relation between body and mind or is there only a body? We will explore the meaning and function of the Chinese concept of the human soul\, as it is represented in the dynamic relation between spirit (shen 神)\, hun 魂 (etheral soul) and po 魄 (body soul). We will look into the ideas underlying  the differentiation  of these three aspects and see what are the consequences for the relationship of body and mind.
